Making the Right Choice: 8 Life Topics that Gen Z and Millennials Struggle within Today's World

The life decisions made by Gen Z and Millennials are often met with a great deal of doubt, as they are the first generations to face a world of extreme uncertainty and ever-growing expectations. From school and partying to money and work, here are 8 topics that often leave Gen Z and Millennials feeling uncertain and full of doubt.

1) School: With education and college being more competitive than ever, Gen Z and Millennials are faced with the decision of how best to invest their time and money to reach their academic goals. This can cause anxiety and confusion, leading to a great deal of doubt when choosing which path to pursue.

2) Partying: Young people are under constant pressure to “fit in” and be part of the social scene. This often leads to doubt about the value of partying and how much time and energy to devote to it.

3) Living: With the current rent and housing prices, younger generations are often faced with the difficult decision of whether to rent or buy a home. Although buying is often not an option at all. This can leave them feeling uncertain about their future, and lead to a great deal of doubt when it comes to making a decision.

4) Money: Managing money can be a difficult task. Gen Z and Millennials often feel overwhelmed by the choices they must make when it comes to budgeting, investing, and managing their finances. And then we should not forget that a large proportion of Dutch students have loans with DUO.

5) Sports: Millennials and Gen Z often feel overwhelmed by the amount of choices they have when it comes to sports, as it can take up a lot of time and effort. What's more, their environment often influences them to pick a specific sport or activity, creating further doubt and confusion in the decision-making process.

6) Love: In an age of technology and online dating, it can be difficult to navigate the world of love and relationships. Gen Z and Millennials often feel a great deal of doubt when it comes to finding a partner and making a commitment.

7) Social Media: With social media, younger generations are often overwhelmed by the amount of pressure to be “perfect” online. This can make them unsure of the value of their online presence and lead to much hesitation in posting content and using the platforms at all.

8) Work: With so many options for jobs, Gen Z and Millennials often find themselves struggling to make a decision about which job to pursue. They worry about making the wrong choice and feeling unhappy in their job.

The overall theme of doubt among Gen Z and Millennials is driven by a combination of social pressure, performance pressure, and individual expression. Social pressure dictates how they should live their lives and what choices they should make in order to fit in with their peers. Performance pressure is the need to achieve more and be better than their predecessors, while individual expression is the desire to be unique and make their own decisions. All of these elements combine to create a great deal of doubt when it comes to making life choices for Gen Z and Millennials.

So what can you do to make a choice you really support? Above all, think carefully about whether it suits you and whether it's going to make you really happy. Try to filter other people's opinions and really think to yourself what choice you have to make.

I would like to invite you to check out the new Like Charlie print called 'doubt' on the website. The print is online as of today and it is about the text above. Hopefully I can inspire you.
