Care

Washing and care

Good care is the simplest way to make clothing last longer. It also saves water and energy. Below is everything we know, in short.

  • 30°wash inside out
  • Air dryinstead of the tumble dryer
  • Do not ironover the print

Washing and drying

Full drum, low temperature

Every wash costs water and energy. Washing cooler is gentler on the fabric, keeps colours better and helps prevent shrinking.

Inside out

Turn the item inside out before washing. That protects the print and keeps the colour where it belongs.

Let it air dry

The dryer uses a lot of energy and wears fabric out faster. Hanging it up keeps the shape better and prevents pilling.

Not everything needs washing

Sometimes airing it outside for an hour is enough. That saves a wash and the item stays good for longer.

Keeping it in good shape

Knitwear lying flat

Knitted items stretch when you hang them. Dry them flat and store them folded, and wash them on a delicate programme.

Pilling is normal

Small bobbles appear on almost every fabric. It does not mean the item is worn out. Wash inside out to limit it, and remove them with a fabric shaver.

Caps and bags

Clean them by hand with a damp cloth or a soft brush. Do not put a cap in the washing machine, it loses its shape.

Repair before replacing

A loose button or a small hole is quickly fixed. Something wrong with a seam within the first year? Email us, that falls under the guarantee.

And when you are done with it

Still in good condition? Then pass it on or sell it, so someone else can enjoy it. Really worn out? Do not put it in the bin, but hand it in for textile recycling so the material gets another life.

Always check the care label

Per item the instructions can differ, so the label in your garment is the one that counts. A clear overview of all washing symbols and what they mean is on the Ginetex website.
