How our clothing is made

Our clothing is made in Bangladesh. Jurren went there himself, walked through the factory and filmed what he saw. On this page you can watch it, read what we work with, and see which documents we can show.

  • 24people work on one T-shirt
  • 335 GSMT-shirts of organic combed cotton, pre-washed
  • One yearquality guarantee on seams, fabric and finish

The documentary, in three parts

Filmed by Jurren during his visit to the factory in Bangladesh.

Part 1

Arriving in Bangladesh

At the head office we go through fabrics, materials and new ideas. That is also where I hear they make zippers out of plastic waste.

Part 2

The sample room

A rainy day at the factory, past the room where our fabrics are stored. You can see how much still has to happen before there is a T-shirt.

Part 3

From fabric to T-shirt

The whole process up close: patterns, mixing colours, cutting, stitching and screen printing. Twenty-four people work on a single T-shirt.

What we do to produce well

We go there ourselves

Jurren visited the production site in Dhaka, walked the floor and filmed what he saw. You can watch all of it above.

We pick fabric on feel and lifespan

335 GSM on T-shirts and 450 GSM on hoodies. Organic combed cotton, pre-washed so it holds its shape better.

If something goes wrong, we fix it

One year quality guarantee on seams, fabric and finish under normal use. And 30 days free returns.

What we cannot prove yet

We hebben de certificaten van onze leverancier opgevraagd en zetten ze hier zodra we ze binnen hebben. Ook weten we nog niet van elk onderdeel, zoals labels en verpakking, precies waar het vandaan komt. Dat zoeken we uit.

What I saw there

These are things the factory does, not things we did ourselves.
I am writing them down the way I saw and heard them during my visit.

  • Zippers are made out of plastic waste
  • People work normal hours
  • The people who make our clothing are paid above the minimum wage in Bangladesh
  • Fabric is cut by machine, so every piece has exactly the right measurements
  • Colours and fabrics are tested on a separate test panel before production starts
  • The water used in the factory is cleaned and returned to nature
  • They plant trees around the site to make it a better place to work

Certificates and audits

We are collecting these documents from our supplier right now. As soon as we have them, they will be here with the certificate number and the expiry date, so you can check them yourself. We would rather show nothing than something we cannot back up.

What would you like to know about the factory?

Jurren goes back. Leave your question here and he will take it with him.
Answers end up on this page afterwards.
